Thanksgiving is just around the corner and everyone is getting prepared for this special occasion. As a professional chef, I know how important it is to create delicious recipes that will leave your guests asking for more. That’s why I wanted to share with you this amazing recipe for cooking a whole turkey that will be the perfect centerpiece for your Thanksgiving feast.

Whole Turkey Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole turkey, approximately 12 pounds
  • 1 cup of unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 teaspoons of dried rosemary
  • 2 teaspoons of dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350Β°F.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the butter, garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Rinse the turkey inside and out with cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  4. Place the turkey, breast side up, on a rack in a roasting pan.
  5. Spread the butter mixture evenly over the turkey, making sure to get under the skin.
  6. Cover the turkey loosely with foil and roast for 2 1/2 hours.
  7. Remove the foil and continue roasting for another 30-60 minutes or until the turkey reaches an internal temperature of 165Β°F.
  8. Let the turkey rest for at least 15 minutes before carving.

  • 2 pounds of boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 cups of chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon of dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil.
  2. Add the chicken breasts to the pot and reduce the heat to low.
  3. Cover the pot and let the chicken simmer for 10-15 minutes or until cooked through.
  4. Remove the chicken from the pot and let it cool slightly.
  5. Using two forks, shred the chicken into small pieces.
  6. In a separate pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  7. Add the shredded chicken, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
  8. Cook for 5-7 minutes or until the chicken is crispy and lightly browned.
  9. Remove from the heat and serve.
